The Kindness Accelerator Book Launch in Greenville: A Children’s Story About How Kindness Spreads

Just in time for World Kindness Week (Nov. 10–16), local author and nonprofit founder Dr. Heidi Blossom is inspiring families with her debut children’s picture book, The Kindness Accelerator: A Story of How Kindness Spreads.

This 38-page, beautifully illustrated book—set in downtown Greenville, South Carolina—follows a young girl named Kimi who learns that even the smallest acts of kindness can create a powerful ripple of goodness throughout her community. Written for children ages 4–9, the story celebrates compassion, empathy, and everyday choices that make kindness contagious.

Dr. Heidi Blossom is a Greenville-based communications expert, educator, and founder of The Kindness Accelerator, a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching, inspiring, and mobilizing intentional kindness. Through educational programs, community events, and creative projects, The Kindness Accelerator helps people make kindness a daily habit.

“I created The Kindness Accelerator to show kids that even small acts—a smile, a kind word, or helping hand—can change lives,” says Blossom. “When kindness is shared, it grows.”

A Spanish edition of the book is also in progress to make this uplifting message accessible to even more families and schools.
