Fueling the Heart of Service: Reflections from the TogetherSC Summit

For three inspiring days, I had the privilege of attending the TogetherSC Summit in Greenville, South Carolina—an experience that reminds you why so many people dedicate their lives to serving others.

More than 750 nonprofit leaders gathered to learn, share ideas, and strengthen the work happening across our communities. With 40+ sessions and 8 networking events, I spoke with well over 100 nonprofit leaders doing extraordinary work across South Carolina. I made wonderful connections and found ways to collaborate and partner with other nonprofit organizations to extend both of our missions.

Even in a time when the world can feel divided, thousands of people are working every day in South Carolina to make their communities stronger, kinder, and more connected.

And the energy in the room?

Hopeful.

Collaborative.

Purpose-driven.

A Shared Belief and a New Realization

Throughout the summit, I kept hearing the same message from nonprofit leaders:

Kindness education is needed now more than ever.

As I listened to leaders from across South Carolina, something became clear.

The mission of The Kindness Accelerator is to teach, inspire, and mobilize intentional kindness. But our work goes beyond individual acts.

Kindness fuels the entire nonprofit ecosystem.

Every nonprofit relies on people choosing to care—donors who give, volunteers who show up, and community members who step forward to help.

When we teach intentional kindness, we strengthen the very foundation that nonprofits depend on.

Kindness becomes the energy that powers generosity, the bridge that builds trust, and the catalyst that inspires service.

All of that begins with kindness.

The Ripple Effect of Kindness

Leaving the TogetherSC Summit, I felt something that every nonprofit leader needs from time to time:

Encouragement.

Encouragement that we are not alone. Encouragement that thousands of people across South Carolina share a commitment to serving others. Encouragement that when people work together with purpose, communities grow stronger.

And when communities thrive, the ripple effects reach farther than we can imagine.
