Last Saturday, something beautiful happened in downtown GreenvilleâThe Kindness Accelerator showed up at Upstate Pride SC's Black Pride Festival with sunshine in our hearts, a trunk full of painted rocks, and a mission to spread intentional kindness. đ

We set up early, with incredible help from our volunteers, John and Meredith, who arrived with joyful energy and helping hands. The event wasnât scheduled to start until 11 a.m., but by 9:30, the streets were already buzzing with color, laughter, and community spirit.
Under the bright sun (and eventually, a few dramatic downpours), our booth quickly became a hub of creativity and connection. We launched our first-ever Kindness Accelerator Rock Garden, with a simple invitation:
Paint one. Take one. Share one. Leave one.

And people didâhundreds of them. Children as young as three and adults in their 80s sat side by side, painting messages of hope, love, and encouragement. As the afternoon rain rolled in, people sought shelter under our tentâand what happened next was magic. They began to tell stories of kindnessâstrangers helping strangers, teachers going the extra mile, small moments that made big impacts. đŹđ

We were powered by an extraordinary team. At the front of the booth, Ashley, Jessica, Summer, Tanner, and Liz were an unstoppable crewâhanding out stickers, inviting folks to join the Kindness Challenge, and building real excitement about The Kindness Accelerator. đĽErin kept everything running smoothly behind the scenes, ensuring every station was covered and our volunteers had what they needed. She worked every station at one point or another and the day couldn't have been possible without her leadership.

Mandy and Leslie did a phenomenal job guiding the hundreds of people who stopped by to paint kindness rocks. Their warmth and patience made the experience joyful for everyone.vAnd our amazing teen volunteersâTesla, Oona, and Trinityâbrought vibrant energy and enthusiasm that lit up the whole tent! Their presence reminded us that kindness truly spans generations. đŤ
Throughout the day, we not only mobilized kindness through creativityâwe sparked deeper engagement:
Hundreds of kindness rocks were painted and shared.
Over 30 people signed up to bring The Kindness Accelerator into their schools and organizations.
And we had dozens of people commit to our July Kindness Challenge, a month-long adventure in intentional kindness. đ
The beauty of the day wasnât just in the painted rocks or rainbow flagsâit was in the connections. In the kindness that was painted, shared, and spoken.

Pride was the perfect place to remind us that kindness knows no age, gender, or backgroundâit belongs to all of us. And on Saturday, in a sea of joy, glitter, and paint, we saw that truth come to life.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by, painted a rock, shared your story, or simply smiled. You helped us build more than a boothâyou helped us grow a movement.
Letâs keep spreading intentional kindnessâone rock, one story, one act at a time.
